What Even Is Success?

Success: The accomplishment of an aim or goal.

How would you define, "success?"

Today we are tackling this subject and figuring out--what makes someone successful?

Amy and Olivia both give their own versions of success in this episode and discuss various forms of what success is. With so many pressures in our lives, how do even reach success? They also give you tips and new ways to look at your life to get you that much closer to your successes. Whether it’s in the gym, home or office 2018 is coming and it’s coming fast.

Lets start talking about what success truly is and how to grab a hold of it and live the live you were created for.

Cynthia Gauthier: Redefining A Males World As A Monster Jam Truck Driver

One of our goals here at NGP is to empower women and men to live to their best potential.

Every. Damn. Day.

We love having inspiring, happy people on our show to make you aware that the world isn't such a dark place and there are others fighting for their dreams...just like you. Today, we have yet another bad ass woman on the podcast; Cynthia Gauthier.

Cynthia drives a monster truck for this little show called Monster Jam. If you have never been, it's an amazing experience. She gets to inspire little girls across the country on tour and also has a blast doing it (you should see her sick dance moves). She hosts a show called ZoneVL, is an awesome CrossFitter and has recently taken up wielding. I mean is there a cooler chick out there? Probably not.

Just What The Doctor Ordered: Core Symptom #5 of Codependency

Just What The Doctor Ordered is...BACK!

If lacking boundaries or not knowing what we need and/or want was not enough of an indicator that codependency might be present, cue core symptom #5 of codependency.

Difficulty experiencing and expressing our reality in moderation.

The ability to moderately know what we are feeling, how to express it even how we behave is difficult. This key symptom affects our body, our thinking, our feelings and our behavior. It affects every aspect of our reality.

Let me show you what I’m talking about...

Zero To Hero: The Danger of Extremes

Do you ever find yourself being one of those folks that are all or nothing? You're either in 100% or nothing at all? Well, we might be talking to you this week when we cover the danger of extremes.

Unfortunately we've all been there, you've had it, tomorrow is the day you're (insert crazy unrealistic thing here)--making the big change. You go out spend $300 at Whole Foods, enroll at a gym, buy new shoes and tell everyone and their mother that you're losing 25 pounds in a month.  Fast forward 2 weeks and your shoving king cones in your mouth faster than dale earnhardt jr's pit crew.

What happened?

The danger of extremes affects everyonenot just “that guy.” Sit you're butt down and let's figure this out.

Finding Your Edge: How Traveling Can Transform Your Life

We have a fascinating human on the nasty girls podcast today. If you've ever wondered what a life coach is or why you probably need one, we have the answer to that and so much more.

Antesa Jensen is the founder of Adventure Awake. They take you to an unknown location away from the comforts of your home, coach you into a better person and you leave a more whole version of yourself. It isn't easy to get into one of their trips, either. You have to interview to see if you're a good fit and if you're truly open to your life being transformed.

We also spend time discussing connection. If you feel disconnected and discouraged, Antesa shares tips and ways to guide you back to your true purpose. This was truly one of our favorites episodes we have done.

Oh, Antesa also has an online 6-week course that is coming up Nov. 1. Inquire more on her website!

Developing a culture of service and a sense of otherness in your life: Why cleaning up someone else’s weights can transform your life:

How can cleaning up someone's mess in the gym change your life? In reality it's a small gesture, but if you investigate further, you might just uncover some s$&t you've been neglecting.

How does it make you feel...being of service? Good, bad, no opinion? If someone else tries to help you, do you reject their offer? It can feel like a lot to think about, we know, but maybe we can change the way you view such a simple gesture in this weeks episode.

Close your eyes and think about your life right now... go ahead. Now imagine being told you have an incurable disorder that will change the rest of your life as you know it. Oh and by the way, you are only 26, amazing Crossfit athlete, great job, beautiful, and healthy as an ox.

The difference about this story, is that Amy and Olivia got to witness it unfold first hand. Today, we talk with our best friend, Katie. Earlier this year we watched as she went from elite athlete to weak, confused and hurting. We watched as endless trips to the doctors, trips to the ER, colonics, blood test after blood test, tears, more tests and more tears all turned up with NOTHING.

Until we finally got the answer.

Here's her story. You'll see a lot of yourself in the midst of it.

Body Image: Don't Talk To My Friend Like That

Welcome back friends! We are thrilled to share another awesome episode with you! This week we are chatting about body image. It's the enormous elephant in the room usually, and Amy and Olivia are here to hog tie dumbo once and for all.

We all struggle with seeing a picture, bathing suit shopping or just simply looking in the mirror from the chiseled Olympic athlete to "that girl at my job who has an awesome body and never works out". When does this turn from simple observations to all out self-sabotage? The Nasty girls share their own journeys with body image and what they have learned along the way.

We will cover topics like, if you're a competitive athlete who is training for performance; what does your body image look like? How do you find the perfect balance between those two goals with out sacrificing either of the two? Stay tuned... this is a good one!

Cassidy Lance-McWherter: How To Go To The CrossFit Games With A Torn ACL

First of all, meeting Cassidy Lance-McWherter was making us feel all types of ways. This girl stands 5'3 and is built like a machine. Talk about a serious girl crush. Once we calmed down, we were able to chat with her for a bit about this little thing going down in August called The Crossfit Games.

Cassidy is headed to Madison in this weeks final episode in our CrossFit Games Series. She's no stranger to adversity as we discuss her injuries and how she was able to come back from them to dominate this years open and regionals.

Just What The Doctor Ordered: Core Symptom #3 of Codependency

Core Symptom #3 of Codependency....difficulty owning your own reality. Woo, girl. This one gonna hurt...

Oftentimes, those who grew up being ignored, attacked, or abandoned–in any way–likely struggle with owning and accepting their own reality.

What if you grew up in a great home...could you still struggle with this? Absolutely.

Pia Melody looks at one's own reality in 2 ways: 1. knowing your reality but not stating it for fear of rejection/not being good enough/not having the right answer/being abandoned. 2. Not knowing your own reality and thus not being able to express it.

Being able to know your own reality...your thoughts, feelings, experiences...it's a beautiful thing but if you've been hurt enough times maybe it's just best you keep that to yourself.

We're going there and talking about ways in which we all struggle to own and express our own reality, our own experiences and feelings.

Your feelings, thoughts and experiences are unique to you. Own them.

Debbie Mizikowski: Former Freestyle Skiier Turned CrossFit Games Athlete

The CrossFit Games Series Cont...

Is it possible that WE here, at the Nasty Girl Headquarters, have found the nicest and most humble person alive? Well pretty sure we did and her name is Debbie Mizikowski.

Our friend Debbie has punched her ticket to Madison this year in the CrossFit Games Masters 60-64 division. We had the pleasure of working out along side of her at our home gym, Burg CrossFit, while she was training in Florida this last year. She humbly crushed the CrossFit Open coming in 2nd place and then turned around and came in 5th in Regionals. Holy Smokes.

In today's episode, we follow Debbie's athletic career from the ski slopes where she competitively skied for a large chunk of her life. From moguls to bike racing this woman has dominated pretty much everything she's touched. We are her biggest fan and will definitely be cheering her on this August. Go Debbie!

Becky Conzelman: Why She Declined Her Invitation To The CrossFit Games

This week we kick of our CrossFit Games series with a heavy hitter, Becky Conzelman. This woman must be the most fittest, nicest person on the planet...that's for sure.

Becky is a seasoned Crossfit Games athlete with an athletic rap sheet that puts most to shame. From basketball to being a contender for the Olympic's in Velo Cycling, she's quite the busy gal. We catch up with her and discuss life up to now and how the heck she balances being a mom/business owner/professional athlete.

Becky chooses to use her platform for good as she is the founder of Faith Rx'd a Christian based Crossfit ministry whose mission is "to strengthen the fitness community for Christ centered living and Impact".

As a masters athlete she qualified for this years 2017 Crossfit games. Becky tells the Nasty girls what went into turning down her invitation to attend this years competition.

So, join Amy and Olivia, this week because Becky will definitely make you want to call your mom and tell her how much you love her! Thanks Becky for taking the time, you truly embody what it means to be a positive role model.
